Is BloodPril a kind of ACE inhibitor?
No. ACE inhibitors such as lisinopril are prescription drugs (MedlinePlus, Lisinopril). BloodPril is an amino acid supplement; it does not work like one and cannot stand in for one.
Why does the bottle say BLOOD PRIL?
That is the label's wordmark, with a blood-drop O. The product is the same either way. Searches and most pages write it BloodPril or Blood Pril.
Is BloodPril made in the USA?
Yes, per the label: made in the USA with globally sourced ingredients, in an FDA-registered facility. Registration is not approval (FDA, Approval myths), and the facility is not named.
Does BloodPril need a prescription?

How many mg of arginine are in each BloodPril capsule?
Not disclosed. All three ingredients share one 500 mg proprietary blend, and blends only have to show their total weight (FDA, Labeling guide).
Why is citrulline listed first on the BloodPril label?
Blends list ingredients from most to least by weight, so citrulline malate is the largest share. The exact split is not printed. More on L-citrulline.
What is the BloodPril capsule shell made of?
Hydroxypropyl methylcellulose, a plant-based shell. The other two added ingredients are microcrystalline cellulose and magnesium stearate, common capsule fillers.
Is BloodPril vegetarian and dairy-free?
The shell is plant-based and no dairy appears in the printed ingredients. Brand badges also say so, but they name no outside certifier.
Does BloodPril contain caffeine?
None is listed. The Supplement Facts panel shows only the 500 mg amino acid blend and three other ingredients.

How do I find the batch code on BloodPril?

Is BloodPril safe with other medicines?
Is BloodPril OK with lisinopril or other blood pressure pills?
Ask your prescriber first. L-arginine can add to blood pressure drugs and push pressure too low (Mayo Clinic, L-arginine). Bring the bottle to that visit.
Can I take BloodPril with ED medicine or nitroglycerin?
Only if your doctor agrees. With nitrates or sildenafil, L-arginine can drop blood pressure too low.
Can heart attack survivors take BloodPril?
L-arginine is not advised after a recent heart attack. Talk to your cardiologist before taking any arginine product.
Is BloodPril OK for nursing mothers or during pregnancy?
The label says pregnant or nursing mothers should consult a physician first. Do not start it without that talk.
Can teenagers take BloodPril?
The label says children under 18 should consult a physician before use. The product and its directions are written for adults.
What if I feel dizzy after taking BloodPril?

How soon does BloodPril start working?
No one can say, because BloodPril has no published trial. Arginine studies ran for weeks at gram doses. See the results timeline.
Has BloodPril been tested in a clinical trial?
Not that we can find. Research covers arginine alone at 4 to 24 grams a day (Dong et al., Am Heart J 2011). That is not a test of BloodPril.
Is 500 mg of arginine enough to make a difference?
The whole blend is 500 mg, and arginine is only part of it. Two capsules reach at most a quarter of the lowest trial dose.
Will BloodPril increase my nitric oxide?
Arginine and citrulline are building blocks the body uses to make nitric oxide. No one has measured nitric oxide changes from BloodPril itself.
How can I tell if BloodPril is doing anything?
Take home readings seated after 5 minutes of rest, with a well-fitting cuff (MedlinePlus, High BP in adults). Log them and share the log with your doctor.
Do habits matter more than BloodPril?

Can BloodPril replace my blood pressure pills?
No. Never stop or change a prescribed dose on your own (MedlinePlus, BP medicines). BloodPril is not a substitute for any prescribed medicine.
Is BloodPril for blood sugar too?
